Meet Dr. DeJong
Dr. Jonathan R. DeJong is proud to be a Fort Dodge native. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High and then studied biology at Iowa State University, where he graduated with distinction. He was very active in the collegiate bands at Iowa State and was drum major of the Iowa State University Cyclone Football “Varsity” Marching Band.
Dr. DeJong graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006. There he was active in dental implant materials research. Dr. DeJong was elected to membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Dr. DeJong then completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He was Chief Resident from 2009-2010.

Dr. DeJong joined Fort Dodge Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2010. He has staff privileges at Trinity Regional Medical Center and has offices in Fort Dodge, Carroll, and Spencer. Dr. DeJong is an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge.
He has a very active family life as the majority of his immediate family lives in the Fort Dodge area. He married his high school sweetheart in 2002 and they have 3 children. In his free time, Dr. DeJong enjoys Iowa State Cyclone Athletics, boating, CrossFit, and is an instrument rated pilot.
Dr. DeJong is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and College of Dentistry. He enjoys working with the dental students and residents.
Dr. DeJong is a member of the Iowa State Dental Board and chair of the Anesthesia Credentials committee for the Dental Board. He is involved at the state level assuring patients across the state are only provided anesthesia by appropriately trained providers
