Dr. Eric C. Knox was raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa along with his younger brother, through his junior high and high school years. During this time
he was active in Boy Scouts and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout in his senior year of high school. Dr. Knox attended Fort Dodge Senior High and graduated with honors in 1992. Upon graduation, he entered the University of Iowa, and after his freshman year was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma honor society.
His studies were centered around the sciences and he finished his bachelor of arts degree in biology in May, 1996.
In the summer of 1996,, Dr. Knox entered the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. During his attendance at the College of Dentistry, Dr. Knox was very active in dental research, specifically in prosthodontic research. He received the Dows research award and the National Institute of Dental Research Training Grant Award. He was also a member of the International Dental Research Association and presented at those meetings twice.
Dr. Knox graduated from the College of Dentistry at Iowa with honors and with the Dental Materials Research Award.
After graduating from the College of Dentistry, Dr. Eric C. Knox entered an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at New York Medical College in Manhattan, New York. His training was completed at Metropolitan Hospital and also St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers of Manhattan.
